- Mount tyres with the same exterior diameter (or slightly smaller) - The speedometer must not read below the actual speed. When travelling at 25 to 75 mph, the speedometer can read up to 10% more than the actual speed - Mount tyres with a load index equal to or greater than that of the original tyres - Mount tyres with a speed index equal to or greater than that of the original tyres (except for snow tyres. More information) - Check to see that rim width and diameter are suitable for the tyre - When using different front and rear tyre dimensions on SUVs and vehicles equiped with anti-lock and anti-slip systems (ABS, ASR), the distance travelled over one turn must be taken into account. - Make sure that any dimension changes you plan to make do not pose mechanical problems (required space, extending beyond the vehicle body...) - Check with the manufacturer, the garage, and your insurance company that the dimensions of the mounted tyres are approved for the use of your vehicle |
